Selling your goods and products at the Ridgefield, Washington Farmers Market (RFM) is pretty easy to do, and if you have any questions please call, 360.989.6440, or email Farmers Market Manager Bob Mayfield.

To Get Started at the Market

  • First, you need to register to become a member of the market, by submitting this form and paying the $35 membership fee.
  • You then need to contact us about your stall rental, see details below.  Let us know of any special needs or accommodations for your operations, and finally, you'll need to show us your proof of liability insurance.
  • Business Licenses. The City of Ridgefield has determined that the Ridgefield Farmers Market is the only "business" that it will require to obtain a business license. Individual vendors do not need a city license.
  • Insurance. Each individual vendor will need to provide proof of current liability coverage to the Ridgefield Farmer's Market, prior to setting up their booth for the first time.  So while the City of Ridgefield doesn't need to see your proof of insurance, the Ridgefield Farmers Market does! If you have any questions about how to obtain liability insurance for this activity, you may call your current insurance provider.

General Regulations and Guidelines

  • Customer Service. The RFM encourages vendors to be courteous, helpful, and if you can’t smile, well, chuckle every now and then. We are here to sell, yes, but also to bring a sense of joy and fun to visitors of RFM.
  • Each vendor must be an RFM Member to sell wares at the market. Business partners, spouses, partners, immediate family members may aid in sales. Crafts must be individually okayed by the Market Master.
  • Annual membership dues ($35) cover one calendar year. At the conclusion of the 2009 season, membership entitles you to one vote at the Annual Meeting of the Members, to be scheduled at a later date.
  • More than one business may sell out of a booth, provided each business meets all license, membership, and requirements for its category.
  • Vendors may sell wares across multiple categories, if approved by the Market Master.
  • No advertising for businesses, groups, are allowed unless said parties are paid members. This includes flyers advertising services.
  • (Rules for our Co-op booth are currently under review and some alterations may be made to ensure more local, high-quality produce.)
  • All vendors must comply with applicable laws and requirements of the United States, the state of Washington, the Clark County Health Department, and the City of Ridgefield. Individual members are responsible for securing applicable business licenses and insurance, all of which must be available in your booth during market hours.
  • The Market Master reserves the right to prohibit anyone from selling or to prohibit any product from being sold. There will be no discrimination based on race, creed, color, sex, sexual orientation, religion, physical ability, age, or nationality.
  • If during market hours a vendor should act in a manner contrary to the rules and regulations of the RFM, or in any manner hazardous or offensive to the public or other vendors, the Market Master will request the vendor to immediately vacate the premises. The RFM is relieved and discharged from any and all loss or damage incurred by the removal of vendor and vendor’s property.
  • Washington State and applicable Federal labor laws will apply to vendors hiring employees.
  • The RFM reserves the right to inspect the establishment where items are grown or produced to verify compliance with rules of origin.
  • The RFM will not be used as a platform for political or religious activities.

Stall Assignments

  • The RFM strives for consistency, not only for the sake of the vendors, but for consumers. The Market Master will make every attempt to keep space assignments logical and consistent. There may be some weekly adjustments. Assignments will be based on available space, the need for a specific product, vendor performance in such areas as good product quality, good display, signage, and ability to follow RFM rules (no pan-flutes!); punctuality, clean-up, prompt notification on canceling, sales history, and market fees paid on time.
  • Stall Fees: The $10 Daily fee must be paid to the Treasurer or Market Master before starting time each Saturday.

Booking In/Booking Out

  • To rent a space at RFM you must call in by 6 pm Thursday of the week you plan to sell. Call 360.989.6440, or email: rwmayfield@aol.com
  • It is not necessary to book-in if you have pre-paid, or indicated on your rental receipt from previous week you will be in attendance the next week.
  • You must book-in if you were absent the previous week, or if it is your first week selling.
  • If you will not be attending the next week you will be considered booked-out, and will need to book-in when you plan to sell again.
  • If you are booked-in for the following week but no longer intend to sell, you must book-out via phone or email no later than 6 pm Thursday prior to your booking date.
  • Vendors that booked-in but either didn’t show or did not cancel according to the agreement, will be charged for the no-show date.
  • Debt must be paid by the beginning of the next attendance day, along with current day’s rent.
  • Set up time begins at 7 am. As the market grows, we may need to assign time slots for set-up, but for the time being, we merely ask the vendors attempt to ‘stagger’ set-up so as to avoid logjams. Vendors must remain, even if they’ve sold out of items, until 1 pm, before breaking down.

Canopies:

  • Vendors must be sheltered in a maximum canopy of 10’ by 10’. It is the vendor’s duty each Saturday morning to have the canopy in place by 8:45. Because we don’t want our canopies to become air-born (believe me, it happens) each foot of the frame must be secured by a 40 pound weight (many people use PVC pipes filled with sand, or cinder blocks).

Location of the Ridgefield Farmers Market

  • Mill St., from the western edge of the RCC driveway to Main Street. As we grow, we can use a portion of the park to move into,

Vehicle Parking, Loading and Unloading.

  • After set-up, please park on 3rd Street or further away, so as to allow visitors the closer parking spaces. Do not park behind the RCC and Library (after set-up and before break-down).
