Week 6 of the 2012 Ridgefield Farmers Market

Sunny and 80 degrees. That's what they're predicting for Saturday. After hanging tough the last two weekends through some downright chilly, and sometimes rainy weather, we deserve some heat. Join us, won't you.

And Bellwood Heights, I'm giving you one last chance. Come and enjoy your Ridgefield Farmers Market this Saturday and with any purchase anywhere at the market, you will receive FREE a sturdy, handsome Ridgefield Farmers Market re-useable cloth bag.

We'll have live music this week from Slim Bacon, who played last month for us. And last week I found out too late to include in the newsletter, but we have a new vendor in Silver Star Dairy. Jodi makes fancy goat's milk soap. You gotta check it out. Also, we should have eggs on the co-op table.

But most importantly, we will put our logo to good use this week, as we should have strawberries.

This week's giveaway is a kitchen pot of herbs and lettuces, all ready to consume. Sign up at the Info Booth. And congrats to Patsy Keeling, winner of last week's gift -goat's milk soap!

Has everyone planted out their gardens? If not, we still have plant starts. And of course, more and more fresh produce every week, and the usual line-up of meat, bread, delicious pastries, dog treats, Choffy, cotton candy, coffee, honey, and a wide variety of handcrafted goodies.

Just a reminder, the farmers market will be partnering soon with the Salmon Creek Burgerville for a fundraiser. All you have to do is head to Burgerville for dinner and 10% of the proceeds will go to the market. More details coming.

The Ridgefield Farmers Market is held every Saturday at Davis Park. Opening bell is 9 am, closing bell, 2 pm.
