2011 Market Update, Week Eleven
Fri, 07/15/2011 - 09:14

Good deeds beget good deeds.
Last year Jan Fraley won one of our weekly raffles. So what did she do? Jan put two wonderful gift baskets to give away for this week's raffle. One is a children's gift basket. Thanks, Jan, you're a gem. And we won't even mention she happens to be the mother of our city manager. Oops, did I mention that?
I'm hoping Danielle, our honey of a honey lady will be on hand at the Co-op booth on Saturday to help explain her product, cuz we only know that it tastes great. And yes, the two full Co-op booths continue to overflow with goodies, from berries and coffee to bread and flowers. O, and honey.
Last week we celebrated two milestones; the Ridgefield Farmers Market turned two years old, as our opening day was just after July 4 in 2009. And, we hit the mid-point in our season. We continue on until October 1. Come on, weather!
This week’s round-up of produce includes; onions, sugar snap and snow peas, lettuce, broccoli, squash, asparagus, cherries, peaches, potatoes, zucchini, and apricots.
Congrats to Tawnya Brooks for winning last week’s raffle, a $20 gift certificate to Inspiration Plantation.
The Ridgefield Farmers Market runs every Saturday, 9 am – 2 pm, at Davis Park in downtown Ridgefield.
As always, check us out on Facebook at the Ridgefield Farmers Market.
