2011 Market Update, Week Seventeen
Thu, 09/01/2011 - 09:11

IF something can go wrong...
...it will. Murphy's Law. But if something can go right, as in having the musical group 'Murphy's Law' at the market this Saturday, it also will. And we will no doubt greet them with some sunshine. And hot dogs, as Da Bronx Dog will be back. Plan on spending your lunch at Davis Park. In fact, you could easily put together a salad with all the produce we have.
And don't forget, for an extra buck, our Co-op boys will be happy to pick up a to-go lunch from any of our local restaurants.

Should be another sunny day...
Shannon Meade, who may well be in labor as I write this, has done it again. She won last week's raffle -a dozen and a half farm fresh eggs. That's twice in the last month she's won our raffle. Could that mean....twins? Haha, just kidding, Shannon, good luck.

2011 Market Update, Weeks Twelve through Fourteen
Wed, 08/03/2011 - 14:13

Come on down and enjoy the sunshine!
We're of course still up and operating every Saturday in downtown Ridgefield, but have been a bit behind in keeping the website up-to-date, as Market Master Bob Mayfeield has been visiting Europe, no doubt with an eye to seeing how Europeans run their farmers markets.

2011 Market Update, Week Eleven

Good deeds beget good deeds.
Last year Jan Fraley won one of our weekly raffles. So what did she do? Jan put two wonderful gift baskets to give away for this week's raffle. One is a children's gift basket. Thanks, Jan, you're a gem. And we won't even mention she happens to be the mother of our city manager. Oops, did I mention that?
I'm hoping Danielle, our honey of a honey lady will be on hand at the Co-op booth on Saturday to help explain her product, cuz we only know that it tastes great. And yes, the two full Co-op booths continue to overflow with goodies, from berries and coffee to bread and flowers. O, and honey.

Two full booths for the Co-op table?
Now that’s progress. We’re selling honey, Pioneer St. Café Bread, Old Liberty Theater Coffee, berries (maybe strawberries, maybe raspberries), hanging flower pots, probably bales of hay (yup, you heard right), and whatever else shows up at the Co-op table. We’re shooting for three booths.

Valet Lunch Service at the Ridgefield Farmers Market
OK, so we haven't been able to secure a food cart for the market, but no worries. Ridgefield has several fine dining establishments, just minutes away from Davis Park, and we’ve decided to take advantage.
